This is a very interesting slide presentation that lays out fundamental features of organization improvement in hospital care. Transforming Healthcare: Virginia Mason’s Pursuit of the Perfect Patient Experience

This is a must read for all of us. It is a report from the King’s Fund that outlines the role of the hospital of the future. The transition is one from an isolated island, to one of integration with community and primary health, and ultimately to a link in a system of population health maintenance and care.
